I really like Xara but fnd the built in widgets for creating galleries or inserting YouTube videos to be cumbersome and slow with relatively little customisation. I found these two programs that are free for non-commercial use, though removal of their logo requires a paid license. Creating Picture galleries and video galleries is a doddle  and incredibly fast I created a 256 image gallery in less than 10 minutes.  The next problem however is how to get them to work in Xara with your own themes.  I found lots of partial answers in the forums but no complete set of instructions.  Having worked it out at last I decided I would share it. To get VideoLightbox or VisualLightbox free just click the names I am not writing instructions for the lightbox programs as they have guides on their websites where you can also download the free versions to test yourself. The instructions here are for Xara WD 11 Premium - they may work for other versions but I have not tested them.  I hope you find them useful and feel free to post any additional suggestions in the forum.
